Practice
Studio Jakob Sellaoui is an architectural practice based in Vienna. It understands architecture as a cultural practice, where built projects and theoretical investigation come together to critically engage with our contemporary reality. Up to date it has worked in diverse scales and environments with realized work in Austria, Nicaragua and the US. The Studio has received several awards including the Austrian Cultural Ministry's Margarethe Schütte-Lihotzky Architectural Grant, the Archtiecture Advancement Award by the City of Vienna and the Ahead Award for best realized hospitality design.






Bio
Jakob Sellaoui is an Austrian-american architect who studied at the Technical University of Vienna (BSc, Dipl.-Ing.) and the Tokyo Institute of Technology as a Monbukagakusho Fellow (MEng). He is currently a lecturer at the Institute of Architecture and Design at the TU Vienna. His work and writing have appeared in Japan Architect, Horizonte Magazine and AD among others. He has recently been awarded the 2019 Schindler Scholarship at the MAK Center for Art & Architecture in Los Angeles.
